DevOps and automation

DevOps consulting to ship software without stopping production.

Kubernetes and containers in production, infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines with zero-downtime deploys. Manual steps become code your team can read, review and run again.

Deploys that hinge on one person.

On a lot of teams, shipping a release is still a ritual: someone logs into the server, runs the commands in the right order and hopes for the best. Staging and production drift apart, and every hand-made tweak becomes a difference nobody wrote down.

Over time the team gets wary of shipping. Changes pile up into big releases, every deploy becomes a risk window, and rebuilding a server from scratch depends on the memory of whoever set it up.

What the DevOps team takes on

  • Kubernetes and containers in production

Applications packaged in containers on clusters built for production: resource requests and limits in place, updates that don't take the service down, and cluster version upgrades scheduled ahead.

  • Infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible

Networks, machines, clusters and permissions described in Terraform and configured with Ansible, all under version control. Rebuilding an environment means running the code, not piecing together someone's memory.

  • CI/CD pipelines

Every change goes through automated build, tests and release, with approvals wherever you want them, all the way to production with no manual steps.

  • Zero-downtime deploys

The new version rolls out gradually, takes traffic only after passing health checks, and the previous one stays ready to come back if something goes wrong.

  • Secure access to your environments

Our team reaches your servers through nuvem.works, with every session logged, instead of shared credentials scattered across chat threads and spreadsheets.

How it's delivered and what changes day to day

What the team builds is code, and code can be read, reviewed and keeps working. The automation stays with you, not with whoever wrote it.

  • Everything under version control

Infrastructure, configuration and pipeline definitions live in repositories your team can access, with a history of who changed what and why.

  • Changes reviewed before they're applied

Every infrastructure change shows what it will do before it runs and goes through review, instead of surprising you in production.

  • SecOps audit before production

Every delivery goes through the team's security audit before it reaches production.

  • Logged sessions

Every time our team accesses your environments it's logged in nuvem.works: who connected, when and to which server.

Desktops and servers in the browser, the app or the command line, with every session logged. It is how our team reaches your environment safely.

Frequently asked questions

What does a DevOps consultancy do?

It turns the path from code to production into an automated process: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and orchestration with Kubernetes. At Nuvem.Online, the same team builds the automation and can run the environment afterwards.

Do we need to move to Kubernetes?

Not always. Kubernetes suits applications with many services, variable load and frequent deploys, but it comes with its own operating cost. The assessment tells you whether it fits your case; if it doesn't, the same infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices apply to containers or virtual machines.

Will you work with the tools we already use?

Yes. The team uses whatever technology fits your case: if you already have a code repository and a CI tool, the pipelines are built there. Terraform and Ansible are the starting point for infrastructure, on any public or private cloud or in your own datacenter.

How does a zero-downtime deploy work?

The new version comes up next to the current one and only starts taking traffic once it passes health checks. If something goes wrong, the previous version is still running and the rollback goes through the pipeline itself. The strategy for each application is agreed with you.

How does your team access our servers?

Through nuvem.works, in the browser, the app or the command line, with every session logged. Nobody has to send passwords over chat or keep credentials in a spreadsheet.

How do we get started?

With a 30-day proof of concept, no contract: the team plugs into your environment, the senior assessment comes out and the first automations land. You decide with the results in hand.

From manual deploys to pipelines, starting with an assessment.
